Bath Spa bus station was demolished in 2007 to make way for a new shopping centre and travel interchange next to Bath's railway station. SouthGate, as the project is known, will allow passengers to easily transfer between different modes of transport and access the city centre.
Passengers arriving at Bath's SouthGate Travel Interchange can access the city centre via a short walk (approx 10 minutes). The arrival point is also within walking distance to the railway station (at the edge of the Southgate development) and the shopping centre offers many facilities for the weary traveller such as shops, cafes and restaurants. Passengers can also easily transfer to other forms of transport such as local buses or a taxi at the travel interchange.
