Stansted Airport to Heathrow by bus (1hr 30 mins 25 GBP)

As there is no direct train service between Stansted Airport and Heathrow Airport the most convenient route is to take the bus. The bus service between London Stansted Airport and Heathrow is very regular and runs twice an hour, 24 hours a day. You can book a single ticket for about 25 GBP one way a booking fee of 1.00 GBP will also be added. Buses depart from Stansted Airport bus and coach station which is opposite the main terminal entrance and arrive at the central bus station at Heathrow Airport for terminals 1, 2 or 3 and they then go on to terminal 4 and 5 (allow an extra 30 minutes to get to terminals 4 and 5). If you are looking for the cheapest route to get between Stansted and Heathrow or wish to spend the day in Central London you might find it more economic to use EasyBus or Terravision to get to Central London. Fares start from just 1 GBP one way if you book far enough in advance. Terravision and EasyBus both have ticket kiosks at Stansted Airport but you can also buy tickets online in advance. Once in central London you can get the London Underground to Heathrow Airport.

Stansted Airport to Heathrow Airport by Train (2 hrs 27.30 GBP)

Stansted Railway Station

The train is a bit slower than taking the bus between Stansted and Heathrow and is likely to be more difficult as you will need to carry any baggage with you on the London Underground. Trains leave Stansted approximately evey 15 minutes from directly under the airport for Liverpool Street station in London. From here you take the London Underground to Heathrow. The train arrives at Heathrow beneath the airport itself. Terminals 1, 2 and 3 are walkable from the underground station, but for terminals 4 and 5 you need to take the free train service which will add 15 minutes to your journey.

With British trains it is advisable to book in advance to secure the best fare. Tickets can be posted to you or you can pick up your advance tickets from a machine at the station.
