Stansted to London City Airport by bus (1hr 10 mins 13 GBP)

National Express bus

There is no direct bus or train service to London City Airport from Stansted Airport, the nearest coach stop is Stratford. Buses from Stansted to Stratford depart from Stansted coach station which is opposite the main terminal entrance every 30 minutes. The cost is about 8 GBP one way and takes 50 minutes to make the journey depending on traffic. On arrival at Stratford you can take the London Undeground (Jubilee line) towards Stanmore and get off at Canning Town Station. From here you can transfer to the Docklands Light Railway (known as the DLR) towards Woolwich Arsenal and get off at London City Airport. If you are looking for the cheapest route to get between Stansted and London City Airport or wish to spend the day in Central London you might find it more economic to use EasyBus or Terravision to get to Central London. Fares start from just 1 GBP one way if you book far enough in advance. Terravision and EasyBus both have ticket kiosks at Stansted Airport but you can also buy tickets online in advance. Once in central London you can take the London Underground and the Docklands Light Railway (DLR) to London City Airport Airport.

Stansted to London City Airport by Train (1hr 10 mins 27.50 GBP)

Stansted Railway Station

Unfortunately there is no direct train between Stansted and London City Airport but there is a regular fast service to London's Liverpool Street Station known as the Stansted Express. A single advanced train ticket costs 22.50 GBP and takes 46 minutes to make the journey. From Liverpool Street Station you can take the London Underground (Central Line) one stop to Bank Station where you can change to the Docklands Light Railway (DLR), heading towards King George V Station which will take you to London City Airport. The underground ticket and DLR ticket should cost about 5 GBP all together and the journey time is around 20 minutes.

With British trains it is advisable to book in advance to secure the best fare. Tickets can be posted to you or you can pick up your advance tickets from a machine at the station.
